Cleaning Supplies List for your Richmond, Vancouver and Burnaby House Cleaning Service
Client‑Provided Supplies — Recommended Brands
Welcome! To maintain sanitary standards, we ask clients to provide the supplies listed below. The items we recommend are proven to deliver a more efficient, deeper clean. Please note that a vacuum, mop, and toilet brush are required. If you’re missing any other items, we can supply them for purchase and leave them in your designated storage spot.
Our cleaning partners will bring their own cleaning solutions.

Vacuum Cleaners
We recommend an upright vacuum for mostly carpeted homes and a “wand” canister vacuum for primarily hard‑floored homes. These models are available in stores or on Amazon. We are not Amazon affiliates
The upright vacuum is only $89.99 and the Canister Vacuum is only $139.98 from Amazon!
Mop
You can choose what you like. We love this mop-and-bucket combo because both the mop head and the flat mop pad are machine washable. They’re available in stores and on Amazon.
Joymop is $44.99, Vileda mop is $44.98
Toilet Brushes
Quite explanatory. We prefer a traditional toilet brush over disposable or silicone options. Silicone brushes don’t clean as effectively, and disposable pods are costly and wasteful.
You can purchase a toilet brush for $2.00 at Dollarama.
Microfiber Glass Cleaning Cloth
This glass‑cleaning cloth is excellent for mirrors, and polishing chrome/stainless steel—results that a regular microfiber cloth or paper towel can’t match. For pristine finishes, we highly recommend it.
This cloth is amazing! $13.99 for a pack of 12 at Amazon.
Microfiber Cleaning Rags
Great for dusting and wiping — microfiber rags are our go‑to because they grab dirt and hold onto it.
$11.99 for a pack of 12 at Amazon.
Scrub Sponges
We use non‑scratch sponges to clean kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, tubs, tiles, backsplashes, and appliances. Each sponge is reusable, but we never transfer sponges between areas—kitchen sponges stay in the kitchen and washroom sponges stay in the washroom to prevent cross‑contamination. Hygiene is our top priority; as a cleaning company, we make sure spaces are truly clean, not just superficially tidy.
You can purchase inexpensive sponges from Dollarama.
Papertowels
Bounty is our top choice for paper towels because of its superior absorbency. Kirkland paper towels from Costco are also excellent. Although they cost more than many other brands, they’re more efficient and ultimately more economical because you use fewer sheets. Cheaper paper towels are thin and low quality, so you end up using—and buying—more.
Brush and Crevice Cleaning Kit
Any brush will do, even a cheap one. That said, the Crevice Cleaning Brush Kit is our pick: it tackles grout and sink buildup like a champ, and the scraper makes short work of stubborn grease and grime.
Brushes from Dollarama are under $5.00
Garbage Bags
Any brand will do. We place garbage bags in each room to collect all household waste.
Two-Step Ladder (optional)
This is optional but recommended. In order to clean high-areas such as cupboards, shelves, door frames, we require a sturdy Two-Step Ladder. Our cleaners will not climb on counters or stand on chairs for safety reasons.
Any sturdy 2-step ladder is sufficient as long as it is safe to stand on.
Swiffer Duster (optional)
This is optional. Great for dusting high areas
Broom and Dustpan (optional)
This is optional. A broom is great for picking up big bits like dried food or broken glass—always handy to have around for quick tidying.
